Cartoons and Freedom of Speech

By now, the more astute of you will have realised that this isn't really the Prophet Mohammed's personal website. It is not intended to offend but if it does then that's just tough. There's nothing in my beliefs that says i can't portray the Prophet Mohammed in whatever way I like. All I'm doing is showing the same amount of respect to Islam as Islam's followers show to other peoples' religions and beliefs.

Muslims may be offended by cartoons of their beloved Prophet but civilised people are equally offended by public beheadings, suicide bombers, fatwahs, babies dressed up in 'I love Al Quaeida' hats and rampaging mobs baying for the blood of all 'non-believers'.

This website (like thousands of other sites and blogs) has been created in direct response to the barbaric over-reaction of Muslims around the world to a few harmless cartoons. Had they reacted in a civilised manner then not only would they have garnered worldwide admiration and respect, but the cartoons would have passed by largely unnoticed...instead, the savage workings of a seemingly backward religion were laid bare for the whole world to see and consequently the cartoons (together with many more highly offensive versions) will remain online for years to come!

The Prophet Mohammed

It has been suggested that 'modern day' Muslims are reluctant to see images of the Prophet Mohammed in case he is shown with his 6 year old wife Aisha (although he did wait until she was 9 before he consumated the marriage) thus leading inevitably to embarassing questions about Muslims and paedophilia. The Roman Catholic Church suffered Worldwide damage over the Paedophilic conduct of its Priests, so maybe it's understandable why Muslims are fighting to avoid a similar situation.

Images of the Prophet Mohammed have actually appeared in publications and art around the world (Islamic included) for hundreds of years with no adverse over-reaction. It seems that Muslim thinking today has more in common with Hitler's jackbooted Nazis than with the non-violent existence they keep telling us they believe in.

Muslim 'unity'

Muslim 'unity' is something we're all used to hearing about. Be it a united front on the Israel/Palestine issue, death threats to cartoonistsor Islamic solidarity over some other conflict against 'non-believers'. They all like to portray themselves as a close-knit family unit willing to stand up for the global rights of all other Muslims. So what happened between 1980 - 88 with Iran and Iraq? Up to 1 million dead and 2 million wounded - all Muslims killing Muslims...and how about Saddam Hussein's Iraq? Hundreds of thousands of Muslims killed by other Muslims...and how about the situation in Iraq now? Mosques being destroyed by Muslims, Muslim suicide bombers blowing themselves up at Muslim wedding parties etc, etc...the list grows longer every day.

Has a more hate-filled religion ever existed in the history of the World?

Politicians and the Media

Sadly, Britain has once again been let down by its politicians and media. Whilst other European leaders, newspapers and broadcasters remained united behind Denmark's stand for freedom of speech, Tony Blair decided to appease British Muslims and condemned publication of the cartoons. The BBC were even more gutless and went one step further, offering a complete apology to the Muslim comunity just for showing a foriegn newspaper containing the cartoons. This is the same organisation that had no hesitation offending Christians in 2005 by broadcasting 'Jerry Springer, the Opera' despite receiving over 45,000 complaints.

Maybe Christains would have more luck if they too issued fatwahs!

'Liberty' - The Human Rights Organisation

Rami Chakrabarti of Liberty, the 'human rights' organisation, remained unusually quiet on the subject of freedom of expression during the cartoon riots. Instead of appearing in her regular prime time BBC news slot she decided to post an ambiguous statement (tucked neatly away in the 'Liberty' website) which appeared to lay all blame for the violence at the door of the cartoonists (and anybody else who dared stand up for the most basic of all human rights). Ms Chakrabarti's perverted view of human rights seems to have several interpretations dependant on which section of society you fall into. It's slightly ironic that 'Liberty' feels the rights of the majority should take second place to a small minority whose sole intention is to do away with the very rights 'Liberty' purports to uphold.

Despite its extensive bank of lawyers, 'Liberty' does nothing to offer answers or suggestions for ways to improve counter-terrorism laws and make Britain a safer place to live, it merely takes the convenient stance of saying 'no, no, no' to everything anybody else suggests. This stance has helped alienate them from the vast majority of the population who now see 'Liberty' as nothing more than a radical left-wing organisation dedicated to standing up for anybody with a grudge against Britain and its democratic values. Surely, there are many Middle Eastern countries that would benefit far more from 'Liberty's' endless campaigning than Britain?

Nobody wants to live in a 'Big Brother' society but equally, the vast majority of people want to feel safe whilst walking down the street or taking the tube. 'Liberty's' standard answer to any new anti-terror law is that it could be used to abuse the rights of certain individuals and therefore should not be introduced. The truth is that almost any law can be manipulated in order to abuse peoples' rights (if so wished). We live in a democracy and have therefore placed our trust in those we elected to do 'the right thing'. Although it's not perfect, there are several layers of safeguards in our criminal system. It's now time for the Government to start acting upon the wishes of the majority in order to prevent yet another Islamic nut case from carrying out his genocidal duty.

'Liberty' must start representing the rights of everyone and realise that in a post 9/11 world certain compromises need to be made in order to try and ensure the security of the majority.

Introducing laws to combat terrorism is not submitting to the terrorist...doing nothing is.

Muslim Council of Britain

Update
In June 2006 the MCB elected yet another right-wing Muslim to lead it's Westernphobic rank and file. New Sec. Gen. Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari had only been in office for a few hours before he started ranting about London needing another 3,000 Muslim Police Officers and in his next breath that Muslims should not co-operate with the Police over the Forest Gate arrests. He also stated that the way for Muslims to feel more integrated in British society was for 'Britain to adopt more Muslim ways'. His parting words in a Daily Telegraph interview were "We really are doing our bit for Britain. We are flying the flag. But the British should be embracing the Muslim community rather than condemning it." Maybe when the Muslim community stops murdering British subjects Britain might then look for a reason to embrace Muslims...until that time you'll have to forgive us for putting self-preservation first!
End of update

Believe it or not, the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) is what British Muslims like to think of as the acceptable face of Islam. Often referred to as 'moderate' Muslims, one only has to visit the MCB website to see their ultimate aims are no different from those of any other Islamic based group. You'll find page after page about Muslim rights (as stated in the Quran) but nothing about Western democratic values. It appears that Western laws should only be applicable when they happen to coincide with Islamic laws. Sir Iqbal Sacranie (Secretary-General of the MCB) stated that the Danish cartoons 'provoked hatred and division between communities' ... A bagful of nails wrapped around several pounds of high explosive and detonated on a packed commuter train does far more harm to inter-community relations than a few cartoons!

Unsurprisingly, the MCB gave London Mayor Ken Livingstone their full support in the row over anti-semitic remarks made to a Jewish reporter and called the Mayor's suspension a 'clear over reaction'. Is this the MCB showing their gratitude to Mayor Livingstone for entertaining Yusuf al-Qaradawi in 2004? Al-Qaradawi's C.V. includes supporting Middle East suicide bombers, justifying the killing of Jewish women and children, endorsing the 'light' beating of disobedient wives by their husbands and the execution of homosexuals. Mayor Livingstone's portrayal of Al-qaradawi as 'an absolutely sane Islamist engaged with the world' is slightly worrying but yet another example of how so-called 'moderate' Muslim groups such as the MCB are influencing the actions of our politicians.

Sir Iqbal stated that groups such as Hizb ut-Tahrir (an organisation already banned in several civilised countries) should not be banned in the U.K. and that if they had broken any laws they should be prosecuted under the law and not driven underground. 'Our democratic values should be upheld, not undermined' said Sir Iqbal (One law for Muslims and another for Danish cartoonists?). Until recently, Hizb ut-Tahrir's website promoted racism, anti-Semitic hatred, called suicide bombers 'martyrs' and urged Muslims to kill Jewish people. In Denmark in 2003 Hizb ut-Tahrir's spokesman was found guilty of distributing racist propoganda.

Despite overwhelming evidence, the MCB refuses to accept the link between mosques and terrorism in this country . Nobody is suggesting that all mosques are places of terrorist recruitment but, Muslims seem to be blind to the presence of people like Abu Hamza holding positions of authority and influence within their community. Hamza is by no means the exception, Hamid Ali, spiritual leader of the North Yorkshire mosque where the 7/7 suicide bombers 'worshipped' was secretly taped praising the bombers - even though he publicly condemned the acts in the aftermath of the events. If the MCB refuses even to recognise (let alone deal with) the poison within its own community then it is no better than any other crackpot Islamic group.

Islamophobic Westerners are not to blame for tarnishing the reputation of Islam...Muslims need no help with that.

Westernphobia

Muslims take full advantage of living in civilised countries where they are able to exercise their rights to personal freedom. Nobody wants to take those rights away from them, even if they don't agree with what they say. It is, however, a two-way street and they must learn to accept criticism and react to it in a civilised manner, no matter how alien and unpalatable this may seem.

Why do Muslims around the world appear to be institutionaly Westernphobic? This shouldn't actually come as any great surprise when anti-Western indoctrination appears to begin at birth and carry on through to death. If the problem were just a few mentally unstable Muslims then the Civilised World would have little to fear. Unfortunately, the majority of Muslims seem to believe our planet should be a monotheistic Islamic state. Iran's 'peace loving' people recently elected a power-mad nutcase hell-bent on wiping Israel off the face of the Earth...and they wonder why the Civilised World is slightly uneasy about their nuclear intentions...Let's hope Israel does the right thing!

Bombs and bullets will always reign supreme for Muslims. Palestinians had the chance to build on a warming of relations with Israel and benefit further from the unilateral handing back of occupied land. Instead they decided the way forward was to elect Hammas into power. Hammas...The 'organisation' that selects boys and girls as young as 10 to strap bombs around their waists and hop onto school buses. it seems that Golda meir was right when she said...

'There will be peace in the Middle East only when the Arabs learn to love their children more than they hate ours'

This website is my small contribution towards freedom of speech. It is not intended to be outwardly offensive and is merely a means for me to express myself and let off steam. I feel that my views are just as important as the next person's. Just because I don't use threats of violence to express myself does not mean that I shouldn't be heard.

(I don't know who wrote this - and, maybe it doesn't really matter)

A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War 2 owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism. "Very few people were true Nazis" he said, "but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies Destroyed my factories."

We are told again and again by "experts" and "talking heads" that Islam is the religion of peace, and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam. The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who Bomb, behead, murder, or honor kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning And hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. The hard quantifiable fact is that the "peaceful majority" the "silent majority" is cowed and extraneous.

Communist Russia comprised Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 Million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China's huge population, it was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people. The average Japanese individual prior to World War 2 was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel and bayonet. And, who can forget Rwanda , which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were "peaceful & loving"?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of Points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awake one day and find That the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun. Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many Others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. As for us who watch it all unfold; we must pay attention to the only group that counts; the fanatics who threaten our way of life - Just think about it.
